Black Letter was created in response to something missing.
In a world of instant messages, disappearing texts, and half-formed conversations, we noticed the absence of intention. Words had become efficient. Convenient. Disposable. But intimacy was never meant to be disposable.
Black Letter began with a simple belief: desire deserves depth.
We believe in the pause before ink meets paper. In the weight of an envelope held in your hand. In the slow unfolding of language that lingers long after it’s read. There is something undeniably powerful about receiving a letter—one written deliberately, thoughtfully, without haste.
Black Letter exists to restore that ritual.
Each piece is crafted with intention—sophisticated, intimate, and emotionally attuned. We do not rush the experience. We design it. From the first word to the final signature, every letter is an invitation: to feel more deeply, to imagine more freely, to reconnect with longing in its most refined form.
We chose the name Black Letter as a nod to both tradition and boldness. “Black letter” evokes historic script—ink pressed into page with permanence and purpose. It also suggests clarity. Directness. Words that do not fade.

- Subscriptions placed after the 15th begin with the following mailing cycle.
- Letters are written, printed, and mailed once per month.
